Before we begin designing, let's think about what kinds of objects we might want to design and sell. Our 3D Printer has a maximum print area of 13.4 cm x 13.4 cm x 13.4 cm, or a little bit bigger than a thousands cube. But that doesn't mean we have to print boring cubes! Below is a gallery of some 3D printed objects to get you started thinking about what you want to print!

TinkerCAD is a free, web-based design software that's super-easy to use! You can add shapes to a 3D plane, move them around, grow & shrink them, and much more. All of the cool things you saw in the pictures were designed with TinkerCAD or a similar program. Watch the 2 tutorial videos below (you can stop the 2nd one after 5 minutes), then check out "DESIGN TIPS" & how to log in and get started with TinkerCAD!

DESIGN TIPS
1. Make sure your designs are FLAT AGAINST THE BOTTOM! Designs that "hover" above the plane mess up when they print.
2. Double-check your design to make sure that ALL PARTS touch another part. Nothing can be floating.
3. Don't forget to keep your design small (less than 6 inches in any direction). Larger designs can take 3-4 hours to print.
4. Have fun and DESIGN SOMETHING COOL!
